Dear Fellow Christian Laborers,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  I trust this letter finds you prospering in the will of the Lord and your place of service.  Here at Pleasant View Baptist Church, we are embarking on a new ministry involving the advanced education of our youth that we feel may be an asset to your ministry in the future.
Several years ago, we at Pleasant View Baptist Church saw the need to pool our resources to educate our children. After beginning our Christian school in 1999, we realized the problems that can arise from an inadequate Christian home school setting. Even though our ministry encourages home schooling (and offers a home school program), disturbingly enough, almost half of our incoming students were academically behind, lacking structure, promptness, and educational discipline in their lives. Despite sheltering their children from the world and its ungodly influences, parents were depriving their children of a superior education. The root of this problem was found in unequipped parents unable to provide the needed education for their sons to succeed in the business world and daughters to successfully educate their children. Now, in the midst of our tenth year of school, I recognize that we are not the only ones dealing with this problem.
Recently, the Lord has dealt with my heart about enlarging our scope to include the college education of young ladies. Beginning in the fall of 2009, the Pleasant View Baptist College for Ladies will introduce an accelerated program to stop the breakdown of Christian education and begin a building process to establish our homes as examples in this world. We purpose to train ladies to educate Christian youth to excel in today’s society. Our desire is to provide ladies with a degree that will allow them to exemplify the attributes of the virtuous woman and develop professionalism and academic excellence coupled with a structured environment. These ladies will graduate fully capable of academically preparing young men to be competitive in a college and business environment and enabling young ladies to be educated wives and mothers.

A group of young ladies here at Pleasant View Baptist Church have joined me in sharing this burden—the importance of successfully educating Christian youth.  These ladies have graduated from Christian schools and have completed degrees at various prominent colleges and universities.  Much time has been dedicated to completing a college program that will focus on academics, teaching techniques, and addressing special needs.  Following this program, ladies will graduate not to be “career women,” but to teach in a Christian atmosphere whether at home or at a Christian school.
Our college is unique in many ways. First, wanting to emphasize local church faithfulness, classes will run from Tuesday through Friday. This schedule provides ladies the option of returning home to attend their church on weekends. Second, our accelerated program permits the student to easily complete her degree in only two years, preparing her to serve the Lord with this tool. Third, our college is very affordable—almost half the cost of the average two-year college tuition. Scholarships are available based on need, academic distinction, and family ministry involvement.
We want to include you as we follow the Lord’s direction in this new outreach.  We covet your prayers and support as we establish this ministry. Truly only the Lord knows the impact this could have in the future.
