Statement of Faith
The Holy Scriptures:
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God; that it was written and finished by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit so that their writings, in the original, were supernaturally and verbally inspired and free from error, contradiction, or omission, as no other writings have ever been or ever will be. They are the complete and final revelation of the will of God to man, forever settled in heaven, thus supreme, and the final authority in all / every matter (s) of faith and practice, and the true center of Christian union.
We believe the Bible is complete in the 39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament books.
We believe that God preserves His Word to every generation, and the King James Version 1611 is God’s preserved Word for English speaking people today.
The True God:
We believe in One true God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, and that each of the three persons has His own distinct office and administration, but that they have precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfection.
We believe that this one true God is the Creator, Sustainer, Ruler, and Judge of all creation.
Jesus Christ, God The Son:
We believe in Jesus Christ, God the Son, preexistent with the Father and the Holy Spirit, who was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary.
We hold that He was sinless in His nature and life, infallible in all His teachings, and that He made atonement for the sins of the world by shedding His blood, in sacrificial death, on the cross.
We believe in His bodily resurrection from the tomb, His ascension into heaven, His perpetual intercession for the redeemed, and His glorious second coming, according to promise.
God, The Holy Spirit:
We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that He was sent by the Son to convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment to come and to restrain the evil one. He comforts, and becomes the earnest of all those who receive the atonement, by faith, in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe He is the divine author of the Holy Scriptures and never leads contrary to them.
Man:
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned voluntarily, thereby incurring both physical and spiritual death.
We believe that all men are dead in trespasses and sins, and in the case of those who reach the age of moral responsibility, become sinners by desire and choice, both in thought and deed; thereby, coming under just condemnation to eternal ruin, without defense, outside of the faith of Christ.
Satan And Devils:
We believe in the reality and the personality of Satan and devils. They are created beings fallen from their original positions and presently the avowed enemies of God and His people. Satan and his allies were defeated by Christ’s atoning work on the cross. Their ultimate end is confinement in the lake of fire for eternity.
Salvation:
We believe that man’s sinful condition requires salvation there from, which only God can graciously accomplish.
We believe that the foundation for salvation was laid by the Lord Jesus Christ, when He died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a vicarious sacrifice.
We believe that upon receiving Christ a person is immediately justified on the grounds of Christ’s shed blood and bodily resurrection from the dead, and is born again by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming a new creation in Christ.
We believe that salvation is entirely a work of grace, and in no way involves any works of righteousness that an individual may do.
We believe that prerequisites to salvation are hearing the Word, conviction of the Holy Spirit, and repentance from sin, and that in true conversion, a man will confess with his mouth unto salvation and believe in his heart unto righteousness.
We believe that all who are saved become priests and have immediate access to God through Christ without need of any human priest.
The Church:
We believe that the Church is a living, spiritual body consisting of all regenerated persons from the day of Pentecost unto the rapture into which every born again believer is baptized by the Holy Spirit at the time of salvation.
We believe the Church to be an entirely distinct entity from the nation Israel.
We believe that the local Church is the visible manifestation of this body, and is the center of God’s program for this age.
We believe that the visible, local Church is a family of believers in Jesus Christ, who are baptized by immersion upon credible confession of faith, associated with and responsible before God for worship, edification, and the work of the gospel.
We believe that to the local Church was committed, for perpetual observance, two ordinances: the baptism of believers by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.
We believe that its officers are pastors and deacons whose qualifications, claims, and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures.
We hold that the local Church has absolute right of self government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations, and the one and only superintendent is Christ through the Holy Spirit; that the will of the local Church is final as the sole judge of the method of it’s handling of all matters of membership, policy, government, discipline, and benevolence.
We believe that the true Church, according to our Savior’s promise, will never be defeated in her mission nor destroyed by her enemies.
Baptism And The Lord’s Supper:
We believe that Christian Baptism is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior and is done in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, by the immersion of a believer in water. Baptism identifies us with the local Church and is a prerequisite to the privileges of Church membership.
We believe that the Lord’s Supper is the commemoration of His death until He comes, and should be preceded, always, by solemn self-examination.
Last Things:
We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulational, pre-millennial return of the Lord.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead in two separate resurrection events. The saved, both living and dead will be resurrected to eternal life and the blessedness of heaven in the pre-tribulational return of Christ in the clouds, while the lost will be resurrected to eternal, conscious suffering and woe in hell, 1007 years later.
We believe in a literal, seven-year tribulation of the outpouring of God’s judgment upon the earth, from which the Church has previously been removed, and the literal, bodily return of Christ, with His saints, at the end of the tribulation, to establish His literal kingdom here on earth.
Assurance:
We believe that the eternal security of the true believer is in the Father’s hand, that we are kept by His power, sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption, and that it is the privilege of the believer to rejoice in this assurance through the testimony of God’s Word; which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh.
Christian Living:
We believe that every saved person should manifest Christ in his life through a consistent walk in the Holy Spirit, fully and constantly yielding his members to the indwelling Christ.
We believe that Christians are called unto a Spirit-filled life; separated from all worldly and sinful practices.
We believe this separation is both from evil as well as unto God and that its motivation is love, not law.
We believe that we are new creatures in Christ entirely His workmanship and, as such, should be busy about the good works, which He hath foreordained for us.
Separation:
We believe the Biblical doctrine of Separation encompasses three areas:
1. Separation of the local Church from all affiliation or fellowship with those who deny the verities of the “faith once delivered to the saints”. Therefore, this Church will not knowingly support/cooperate with any individual/organization which is a member of or in support of (but not limited to) the World/National Council Of Churches, the modern Charismatic Movement, Neo-Evangelicalism, Neo-Orthodoxy, Hyper-Calvinism.
2. The separation of believers from worldly practices. (As outlined under Salvation)
3. The Separation of Church and State.
We believe that God is Sovereign in the bestowment of all His gifts; and, that the gifts of evangelists, pastors, and teachers are sufficient for the perfecting of the saints today; and, that speaking in tongues and the working of signs and miracles gradually ceased as the New Testament Scriptures were completed and their authority became established.
